16 teenagers from different parts of Ukraine, 5 days of intensive training and an experience that will change their lives. A new phase of the Democracy Hub in Switzerland project, implemented by the Klitschko Foundation in collaboration with the Hirschmann Stiftung, has started.
It aims to teach young Ukrainians leadership, media literacy, principles of tolerance and public speaking skills.
“We strive to give Ukrainian youth not only knowledge, but also practical tools for implementing democratic initiatives at the local level. Each of the participants in this project has unique ideas and perspectives that will help create positive changes in Ukrainian communities,” says Angelina Osadcha, Director of the Klitschko Foundation.
From February 17 to 21, teenagers, selected from almost 1,000 candidates across Ukraine, will undergo training under a program accredited by the University of Saint Gallen. Participants will not only gain the necessary knowledge, but also discuss important issues of democracy with representatives of international organizations that support the project. After completion, young people will implement democratic initiatives in their communities, where they will be able to apply the acquired skills in practice.
The Democracy Hub in Switzerland project has been helping Ukrainian teenagers become active citizens and leaders for the fifth year in a row, ready to change society and create these changes themselves. In total, more than 2,000 participants have become part of this initiative, which proves its effectiveness and importance for the development of democratic processes in Ukraine.
